Physical Education
Our Curriculum Aims
We provide a broad, balanced and progressive curriculum that inspires all pupils to succeed and excel in all areas of physical education.
Children are provided with opportunities to become physically literate in a way that supports their health and fitness.
Opportunities to compete in sports and other activities help build character and embed values such as sportsmanship, fairness, and respect.
Specialist PE teachers deliver all PE lessons throughout the academic year.
We want all our children to love sports, exercise, and to understand how to live an active and healthy lifestyle. Our learning objectives aim to develop physical, cognitive, social, and emotional skills, producing well-rounded athletes. We teach children knowledge through rules, strategies, and tactics, as well as how to participate healthily and develop motor competence. We work to develop confident, successful and independent learners who can solve problems whilst fostering values such as sportsmanship, fair play, and etiquette.
The school offers a range of games and sporting activities, both inside and outside the school, catering to all levels, from elite to participation and inclusion. Hale Prep students actively participate in sporting competitions through the Trafford School Sports Partnership and the Independent Schools Association's competitions and activities.
Hale Prep is proud to hold the Platinum award from The School Games, the highest award a school can achieve.
