Cookery

Club times: 3.20-4.35

Where: School

For Year(s): 3 to 5

Chef Kelly from Kids Cookeryland runs the Cookery Club. She writes, "We cook both savoury and sweet recipes, e.g. stir-fries, cakes, curries, biscuits, breads, chicken nuggets, pastry and pasta dishes. This is a hands-on club; the children prep, cook, and wash up. For those who may be new to the cookery club, I am a personal chef with over 18 years of experience and have been running children's cookery clubs in local schools for 11 years now. We aim to bring food to life and inspire children to connect with REAL food, where it comes from and how it affects their bodies and minds. We roll our sleeves up and get stuck in to create yummy food from fresh ingredients. Learning important cooking skills in a fun, hands-on environment will prepare them for life. We believe learning how to prepare meals from scratch is the most valuable life skill to help them make better food choices and create positive relationships with food.

The club runs on THURSDAYS straight from school from 3.20 pm to 4.35 pm in the School Dining Room. Places in the club are limited & are allocated on a first-come basis. All ingredients and equipment are included in the cost; there is no need to bring anything to the class."
