Note:

At Key Stage One Level 2 is the level that can reasonably be expected from pupils at that age.  (National figures are approximately a little below 80%.)

Level 3 obviously indicates pupils are exceeding expected levels.

At Key Stage Two Level 4 is the level that can reasonably be expected.  (National figures are again a little below 80%)

Level 5 indicates pupils are exceeding expected levels.

Since 2007, the school has ceased to enter pupils for the Standard Attainment Tests (SATs).  This decision was made in the belief that the tests no longer provided an accurate picture of pupils' progress and levels of attainment.  To provide a more accurate picture the school has adopted Performance Indicators in Primary Schools (PIPs) administered by the Education Department at Durham University.  Annual tests, taken by pupils in all years, together with an assessment of each child's current level of educational development give an accurate picture as to whether a pupil is working in line with what can be expected, above or below.
